The Globalstar system uses a constellation of 48 satellites in circular
orbit providing total earth coverage between 72 degrees North and South. It offers clear, high-quality service accessing three wireless
technologies: analog cellular (AMPS), digital cellular (CDMA), and the
Globalstar satellite network.
Features:
* Four-line, 48 character display shows battery level, voice-mail
status, short messages received, and satellite signal strength.
* Position Location (GPS) can be obtained and displayed, if desired.
* Phone dimensions (with satellite antenna stowed): 7.75" x 2.25" x
1.75".
* Phone weight (with battery & charger): 1.2 lbs
* The complete package, as shipped by InTouch USA with accessories is
12" x 8" x 3.5". Weight 2 lbs 3.7 oz (925 grams)
* Accessories: AC Wall charger 120-240VAC. Also available upon request
at no extra charge: Car cigarette lighter adapter/charger and satellite
packet data cable extending the phone to a computer.
* Encryption (not provided in rental package) is available
* Data: Satellite Dial-up Data service and satellite packet data service
available using a data kit provide 9.6 KBps CDMA data. The three-foot
data cable connects the phone directly to an IBM-compatible computer
(RS232-compatible serial port). The kit includes data cable, quick start
card, and a CD-ROM containing manuals and software.
N.B. Dial-up data can be used anywhere, packet data services only available in North
America and the Caribbean areas.

Talk Time
* Globalstar mode 3.5 hours talk time, 9 hours standby
* CDMA Digital mode 4.5 hours talk time, 72 hours standby
* Analog 2.5 hours talk time, 14 hours standby
For the boating users, the Data Kit can be used with OCENS Station 20
weather software to access OCENS chart library via the Internet. Globalstar has developed special software to access this weather
information covering any ocean region.

Technically, Globalstar can be accessed anywhere on earth between 72
North and 72 South. Globalstar has operating agreements which allows it
